Cherries in Young, NSW

There are many orchards and “pick your own” cherries in Young – the Cherry Capital of Australia!  The drive from Canberra to Young is less than 2 hours and 4 hours from Sydney.  Young celebrates the annual National Cherry Festival on the first weekend in December and this 3 day celebration includes the Street Parade, Christmas Street Market, cherry pie eating championships, cherry pip spitting competition, live music, drum and pipe bands and more. 

Assistance on offer for applications for SEED (first time filmakers’ initiative)

Screen NSW has advised they have there is an area on their website for anyone who is looking for resources to help them with applications for their first time filmmakers initiative SEED (which has been launched alongside ABC REGIONAL) — your applications are important so please visit the often as it’s getting updated all the time!

You need to be from anywhere outside the Sydney Greater Metro area, (remote and regional areas) and there needs to be a minimum of ONE FEMALE as a key creative.

Applications close Jan 8.
